Laser Hair Removal FAQ
The laser hair removal FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) answer many of the common questions that we receive relating to our Alma Lasers Soprano Ice treatment.
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a safe treatment designed to damage hair follicles to prevent the regrowth of hairs using light energy.
Is it safe?
Our technology is FDA approved, providing a safe and effective treatment with minimal soreness.
How does it work?
A simple explanation of the process is described on our main treatment page with a more detailed description on our science page.
Is laser hair removal painful?
There may be some minor discomfort which will be less significant as you have more sessions. At VIVO Clinic we use the market leading Soprano Ice machine from Alma Lasers. This technology minimises discomfort by cooling the area as it is being treated.
What results will I see?
Results may vary but the treatment has proven to be highly effective when used on a variety of skin types (see research). During your consultation, we will assess your requirements and estimate the number of sessions you will require.
Is it suitable for me?
The treatment is suitable for most skin types and hair colours. The treatment is not suitable for people who want temporary results.
What if I don’t have a natural skin colour?
Inform your practitioner if you’ve used fake tan or if you have any skin complications which you think may be an issue. Out treatment is highly versatile and we can cater to most requirements.
How much does hair removal costs?
When you compare the cost of shaving/waxing over the course of several years, laser hair removal at VIVO Clinic will likely be a far more affordable option. Cheaper, less reputable technologies will likely cost more money in the long run.
Is all laser hair removal the same?
No. All laser hair removal technologies vary in some respect. We use the Alma Lasers Soprano Ice, which is widely recognised as being the most effective treatment on the market.
We encourage I clients to research the technology behind the treatment to give them peace of mind.
What are the side effects?
You may experience minor soreness, though this should only last 24hrs.
