Everyone arriving in the UK from red list countries, and travellers from everywhere else who are not fully vaccinated, are required by the law to take a COVID-19 PCR test on or before Day 2 of their arrivals and a second test on or after Day 8. These passengers must quarantine for ten days in the UK. Red list country returnees are required to self-isolate at government-approved hotels for the stated duration.

If you have had both vaccine doses, you will be exempt from post-return quarantine and the Day 8 PCR test on coming back from a non-red list country.

You must book and pay for your Day 2 and Day 8 tests before starting your journey to the UK. Failures in this regard will be met with fines.

Depending on your need, you may purchase from us a Day 2 test only or the Day 2 and Day 8 tests together.

If you are coming to the UK from a non-red list country and are not fully vaccinated, you may shorten your mandatory quarantine period with a Day 5 Test to Release.

  • What should I do on my arrival in England?

      If you are required to quarantine on your arrival in the UK, you must begin immediately on entering the country. Red list country arrivals, even if they are fully vaccinated, must complete their self-isolation period in government-approved hotels.

  • Can I come to your Birmingham clinic while I am self-isolating?

      Yes. The government permits restricted travel to COVID-19 test centres for everyone who has pre-booked test appointments.

  • Where is the clinic located?

      Great news, we have free parking on site which we did not have previously! Once you enter the car park you need to drive straight to the bottom and the building will be just to the right of you. Please look for the “Team Prevent,” and, “Vivo Clinic,” signage. Please ensure you park within the parking bays closest to the “Team Prevent,” building.

      If you are travelling by bus there is a stop directly outside the car park with regular links in and out of the city centre.

      If you are travelling by train the nearest station is “Five Ways,” which is a 10-15-minute walk. Alternatively, Birmingham New Street is only a 10-minute taxi journey away.

      Polite Reminder: Please do not attend a booking if you believe you have a current Covid-19 infection. We offer a current infection test which doesn’t require you to attend one of our clinics.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?

      You must bring your valid passport when you visit our clinic for your test.

  • Booking Options

      In most cases, you will have to book both Day 2 and Day 8 tests together.

      We are happy to let you book the appointment for only the Day 2 test at our clinic if that is the only test you require or have arranged a separate plan for your Day 8 test. And vice-versa.

  • Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?

      We will give you a unique reference number after you have completed your order with us. You will need to enter this number in your passenger locator form prior to the start of your travel to England.

  • How will I receive my test results?

      Your test result will be delivered to your email address.

  • When will I receive my results?

      We will try our best to ensure that results are produced within 24 hours of sample collection. Nevertheless, sequence testing is a complex procedure, and in rare cases, it can take up to 72 hours.

      Please be advised that if your test appointment is after 5 pm, we try to deliver test results within 48 hours of sample collection. This is because the day’s courier has left by your appointment time. For instance, if the test appointment is at 5:15 pm on Tuesday, our aim will be to provide results by Thursday.

  • What should I do if I test positive?

      When receiving a positive result on the Day 2 test, you are required to begin a new quarantine period of ten days from the day after your initial test date. The same applies for positive Day 8 test results.

  • What should I do if I test negative?

      If you have come to the UK from a red list country and get negative Day 2 and Day 8 test results, you are free to stop self-isolating after the mandatory ten days are complete. Whereas, if you come from a non-red list country, your quarantine period can be shortened if you opt in to the Test to Release scheme. Although, Day 8 test still needs to be taken.
