The Day 2 and Day 8 tests are mandatory for everyone arriving in the UK. Additionally, the government has mandated a ten-day quarantine period for all returnees. The first COVID-19 PCR test needs to be taken on or before Day 2 of the quarantine period, and the second test needs to be taken on or after Day 8 of the quarantine period.

It must be noted that everyone arriving from countries on the UK’s ‘red list’, are required to quarantine at hotels approved by the government.

  • What should I do on my arrival in England?

      As soon as you gain entry into the UK, you will be required to self-isolate for ten days. If you are travelling from a ‘red list’ country, you must quarantine in an approved hotel for the entire period.


  • Can I come to your Brighton clinic while I am self-isolating?

      Yes, you can. The government permits travel to test centres if you have a pre-arranged COVID-19 PCR test appointment.

      Please ensure that you limit your travel from your quarantine location to our clinic only.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?

      We require you to bring a photo ID only, such as your passport or driving license.

  • Booking Options

      In almost all cases, travellers to the UK will be required to undergo both Day 2 and Day 8 tests. It is recommended that you book appointments for both tests.

      However, you can book only the Day 2 test, if that is what you require only. You may either book the Day 8 test afterwards or make different arrangement for it according to your convenience.

  • Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?

      Yes, we are legally obligated to provide you with a unique reference number as soon as you have booked the Day 2 and Day 8 tests with us. When you fill out your passenger locator form, you will need to provide the reference number to confirm that you have booked the Day 2 and Day 8 tests before your flight.

  • How will I receive my test results?

      You will be sent an email with your test results as soon as they are ready.

  • When will I receive my results?

      Our policy is to provide test results the next day. However, due to the complicated nature of sequence testing, it is not uncommon, although rare, for it to take up to 72 hours for results to be processed.

      For test appointments that take place after 5 pm, obtaining results may take up to 48 hours. This is due to the courier service’s 5 pm cut off. If your appointment is 5:30 pm on a Monday, you will receive your results by Wednesday.

  • What should I do if I test positive?

      If you test positive for either of the tests, you must self-isolate for ten days starting from the day after your test date. This self-isolation period will be separate from the initial one.

  • What should I do if I test negative?

      If you test negative on both tests, your quarantine period ends after the ten days are over.

      Please note, if you are returning to England from a ‘non-red list’ country, you have a choice to end your quarantine period early by taking a Day 5 Test to Release.
