Day 2 and Day 8 PCR Tests Bristol
Book your Day 2 and Day PCR 8 tests at our Bristol Clinic
Alternatively, you can purchase a Day 2 & Day PCR Testing package to be delivered to the location where you are self-isolating.
Red list country arrivals and not fully vaccinated travellers are required to undergo COVID-19 PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8 of their arrival in the UK. They must also quarantine for ten days on reaching the UK. People who have received two doses of the jab are exempted from self-isolating and taking the Day 8 test on returning from a non-red list country.
The Day 2 test must be taken on or before the second day of arrival and the Day 8 test needs to be taken on or after Day 8. Failure to do so can result in fines and other penalties.
Passengers coming to the UK from red list countries are required to self-isolate in government-approved hotels.
What should I do on my arrival in England?
If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to begin self-isolating for ten days starting from your arrival date on entering the UK.
If you come from a red list country or have been through one on your travel to the UK, you must quarantine at a hotel approved by the government.
Can I come to your Bristol clinic while I am self-isolating?
Yes. You will be permitted by the government to travel to our clinic as long as you have a test appointment booked with us.
Where is the clinic located?
From the 20th of August, the address will be:
Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel
For appointments prior to the 20th of August, please go to:
Vivo Clinic Bristol
Mercure Hotel Brigstow
Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?
Please carry your passport with you when you come to our clinic.
You can book the Day 2 and the Day 8 tests together, or you can book only the Day 2 test.
You may later book a Day 8 test with us separately, or elsewhere if that is more convenient.
We also offer the option to book at-home test kits here.
Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?
Yes. As per the government regulation, you will receive a unique reference number as soon as you have booked the Day 2 and Day 8 tests with us.
You will need to provide this number in your passenger locator form before commencing your travel to the UK.
How will I receive my test results?
We will provide your test results via email. Please make sure you provide the correct email address at the time of booking.
When will I receive my results?
We aim to have your test results delivered within a day after your test. In very rare cases, however, the complicated sequence testing can take as much as 72 hours. Thus, slightly late delivery of the test results.
In the case of appointments booked after 5 pm, we usually deliver the results within no more than 48 hours. For example, if your test appointment is 5:30 pm on Wednesday, your results will be ready no later than Friday. The reason being, courier services stop operating after 5 pm.
What should I do if I test positive?
On testing positive, you must begin a ten-day quarantine period from the day after your test. For instance, if you test positive on the Day 2 test, your new self-isolation period will start from the third day of your arrival. The days you spent in self-isolation before the test will not count.
What should I do if I test negative?
If you test negative for both tests, you do not have to do anything. Your quarantine period will end in ten days without extensions.
If you return to the UK from a country that is not on the government’s red list and test negative on the Day 2 test, you are welcome to take a Day 5 Test to Release and shorten your quarantine period.
