The Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests are a legal requirement for everyone travelling to the UK from red list countries, as well as travellers arriving from the rest of the world who have not been fully vaccinated. Furthermore, they are required to quarantine for ten days on arrival. The first PCR test needs to be administered on or before Day 2 of the quarantine period, and the latter test needs to be administered on or after Day 8 of the quarantine period. But if you have been fully vaccinated, on returning from a non-red list country, you will only be required to take a Day 2 PCR test.

These tests need to be booked before commencing your travel to the UK, as the pre-flight passenger locator form require that you include the booking details.

Fines and penalties are applicable on failure to do so.

  • What should I do on my arrival in England?

If you are not fully vaccinated or are travelling from a red list country, as soon as you have entered the UK, government regulation dictates that you begin self-isolating for ten days immediately.

If you arrive from a red list country, you must quarantine in a government-approved hotel. You must make these arrangements before you arrive in the UK.

  • Can I come to your Liverpool clinic while I am self-isolating?

The government regulations permit travels to our clinic on the condition that you have the test appointments booked with us at our Liverpool branch.

  • Where is the clinic located?

      The Liverpool address is:

      88 Rodney St

The nearest bus stops are Sankey Street, Seel Street and Colquitt Street. Each of the stops are five minutes’ walk or less from our clinic on Rodney Street.

If you are driving, there is roadside parking available throughout Rodney Street. You may also use the JustPark Car Park located Knight St, only a 2-minute walk away.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?

Yes, please bring with you a valid passport.

  • Booking Options

You may only require either a Day 2 or a Day 8 test. Or, like in most cases, you might need both. In order to provide our customers with flexibility, we offer several options to pick from:

      • The Day 2 and Day 8 tests together,
      • The Day 2 test only,
      • The Day 8 test only,
      • Or our at-home test kits here.
  • Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?

As soon as you have booked the Day 2 and Day 8 tests with us, we will provide your booking confirmation and a unique reference number.

You cannot enter the UK if you do not enter this number in the passenger locator form before your flight.

  • How will I receive my test results?

You will receive your test results at the email address you gave us when you booked your tests.

  • When will I receive my results?

Normally, we deliver results within 24 hours of the test. As the sequence testing process can require longer, sometimes results may take up to 72 hours to be ready. However, this is very rare.

Tests taken after 5 pm can take up to 48 hours. This is because the day’s courier will have left by this time. So, if your test is scheduled at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday, your results will be ready by Friday.

  • What should I do if I test positive?

If your test result comes back positive for COVID-19, please be advised that your initial quarantine period will no longer be valid. You will be required to restart a ten-day self-isolation period from one day after your test date.

  • What should I do if I test negative?

You will be required to do nothing. You can stop self-isolating once the mandatory ten days are over.

There is an option to take a Day 5 Test to Release to reduce your days of self-isolation. To be eligible, you must come to the UK from a non-red list country and be self-isolating in England.
