Day 2 and Day 8 PCR Tests Manchester Airport
Book your Day 2 and Day PCR 8 tests at our Manchester Airport location.
Alternatively, you can purchase a Day 2 & Day PCR Testing package to be delivered to the location where you are self-isolating.
All international passengers arriving in the UK must quarantine for ten days and take a Day 2 test and a Day 8 test. As the names suggest, the Day 2 test must be taken on or before the second day of arrival, and the Day 8 test must be taken on or after the eighth day. The arrival day is considered Day 0.
You must book the Day 2 and Day 8 tests before you begin your travel to the UK. Failure to do so will result in a fine and even a refusal of entry.
Depending on what you require, we sell the Day 2 test and the Day 8 test separately as well as together.
Everyone who arrives from a country on the UK’s travel ban red list is required to quarantine in a government-approved hotel.
‘Non-red list’ country arrivals have the option to shorten their quarantine periods by taking a Day 5 Test to Release.
What should I do on my arrival in England?
As soon as you enter the UK, you must begin self-isolating immediately. It is a legal requirement. Failure to do so can lead to penalties.
If you come to the UK from a ‘red list’ country, you must self-isolate in a hotel approved by the government. You must make arrangements for hotel quarantine before travelling to the UK.
Can I come to your Manchester clinic while I am self-isolating?
You are allowed to travel to our Manchester Airport clinic for your Day 2 and Day 8 tests. However, you must have an appointment booked at this clinic from earlier. And your travel route must be limited between your quarantine location and our clinic.
However, if you begin exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, please take the at-home Day 2 and Day 8 tests
Where is the clinic located?
Vivo Clinic (based inside The Clayton Hotel)
Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?
Please bring your passport.
It is typical to book the Day 2 and Day 8 tests together. However, due to your circumstances, you may need only one of the two. Thus, we offer the flexibility to purchase either test individually.
Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?
Yes, we will. As soon as you have booked the Day 2 and Day 8 tests with us, you will receive a unique reference number (starting VIVOC). This number must be entered in your passenger locator form before you come to the UK.
How will I receive my test results?
We shall send you your test results to the email address you gave us when booking the tests.
When will I receive my results?
Typically, we provide results within 24 hours of the sample collection. However, sequence testing is a highly complicated process and may take longer for results to be produced. On very rare occasions, it has been known to take no longer than 72 hours.
Also, if your test appointment is after 5 pm, the courier to the laboratory has already left. Thus, we must send your samples to our lab the next day and send you your results the day after.
What should I do if I test positive?
Testing positive for COVID-19 will require extending your quarantine period. You must restart a ten-day quarantine period from the day after you took the test. Days you had spent self-isolating before the test will not count anymore.
What should I do if I test negative?
You must complete the ten days of your quarantine. If results for both tests indicate negative for COVID-19, your quarantine will end without any extensions.
However, if you are returning to the UK from a ‘non-red list’ country, you can opt into the Test to Release scheme for a reduction in your quarantine period. You can book a Day 5 Test to Release from us.
