On reaching the UK, not fully vaccinated travellers and arrivals from red list countries are required to:
- Self-isolate for ten days, and
- Take a PCR test on or before Day 2 of the quarantine, followed by
- Another PCR test on or after Day 8 of the quarantine period.
However, fully vaccinated overseas arrivals will not have to enter quarantine or take the Day 8 PCR test on coming to the UK from non-red list countries. Only the Day 2 PCR test is mandatory for them.
Travellers to the UK are legally required to book the Day 2 and Day 8 tests beforehand. It is so that they can record the test appointment booking details on the passenger locator form before the journey.
What should I do on my arrival in England?
If it is applicable, you must begin quarantine immediately after you enter the UK.
Please be advised that you will be required to quarantine at a managed hotel when travelling from or through a red list country. In such instances, you must make the hotel-quarantine arrangements before coming to the UK via the government’s website.
Can I come to your Manchester clinic while I am self-isolating?
Yes, you can come to our Manchester clinic, but only for a pre-booked Day 2 or Day 8 test appointment. Your route must be limited to only travelling between your quarantine location and our clinic.

Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?
Please bring your valid passport to the test.

As some customer require both tests and others only need a Day 2 or a Day 8 test, we keep our options flexible. You may choose from the following, according to your needs.
Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?
Yes, we will. Once you are done booking the Day 2 and Day 8 tests with us, you will receive a unique reference number which you must include in your passenger locator form.
How will I receive my test results?
VIVO Clinic Day 2 and Day 8 test results are dispatched to customers’ emails.
When will I receive my results?
Usually, test results are delivered within a day of sample collection. In extremely rare circumstances, it may take up to 72 hours. The reason behind this is the complicated process of sequence testing.
For test appointments taking place after 5 pm, results are delivered within 48 hours of the test. For example, we will send the samples collected at 5:15 pm on Monday to the laboratory the following day. We will then deliver the results by Wednesday.
What should I do if I test positive?
If you receive a COVID-19 positive result on your Day 2 test, you must begin quarantining from Day 3 of your arrival. The previous days of self-isolation will not count any more. It will be the same for positive Day 8 test results.
What should I do if I test negative?
You will not need to do anything. Your quarantine period will simply end after ten days.
If you are self-isolating after coming to the UK from a country not on the red list, you can take a Day 5 Test to Release to reduce your mandatory quarantine period.
