Day 2 and Day 8 PCR Tests Newcastle
Book your Day 2 and Day PCR 8 tests at our Newcastle Clinic.
Alternatively, you can purchase a Day 2 & Day PCR Testing package to be delivered to the location where you are self-isolating.
PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8 are mandatory requirements for arrivals from red list countries and travellers who are not fully vaccinated. They must take the tests while observing the government-mandated ten-day quarantine.
As the names suggest, the Day 2 test needs to be taken on or before the second day of arrival date, and the Day 8 test needs to be taken on or after the eighth day.
However, fully vaccinated travellers do not need to quarantine or take Day 8 tests when they arrive in the UK from non-red list countries.
You must book the tests before travelling to the UK. When booking an appointment with us, we will provide a unique reference number. You will be required to enter this number in your passenger locator form before the flight.
What should I do on my arrival in England?
When first arriving in the UK from a red list country or as a not fully vaccinated traveller, you will be required to enter quarantine immediately. The quarantine period should last ten days unless you get a COVID-19 positive result on one of the tests.
Everyone who returns from red list countries must observe the mandatory quarantine period at government-approved hotels.
Can I come to your Newcastle clinic while I am self-isolating?
You are allowed to travel between our Newcastle clinic and your quarantine location or residence. However, you will only be permitted to do so if you have test appointments booked with us.

How will I receive my test results?
As soon as they are ready, you will have your test results in your email.
When will I receive my results?
Our results are typically delivered the next day. However, sequence testing is tricky and, on very rare occasions, may take up to 72 hours.
Also, the couriers with testing samples are sent to the laboratory from our clinics by 5 pm every day. So, if your test is after 5 pm, getting your results back may take up to 48 hours.
What should I do if I test positive?
If you test positive for COVID-19, you must restart a ten-day quarantine from one day after your test date.
What should I do if I test negative?
You must complete the entire quarantine period even if you get negative results on both tests.
You can also take a Day 5 Test to Release to shorten your quarantine period if you are eligible and have one booked in advance.
