Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests are mandatory for everyone returning to the UK who are not fully vaccinated and for people travelling from red list countries regardless of vaccination status.
Fully vaccinated individuals coming to the UK from countries that are not on the red list need only take Day 2 PCR tests.
The two PCR tests must be taken during the ten days of the post-return quarantine. The day of arrival will count as Day 0.
The tests must be booked prior to beginning the journey to England, and appointment details must be included in the passenger locator form. Failure in this regard will result in fines and penalties.
What should I do on my arrival in England?
As soon as you enter the UK from a red list country or anywhere else as an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individual, you must begin the mandatory ten-day quarantine. If you come from a red list country, you must self-isolate in a designated hotel; the arrangements for this must be made in advance via the government’s website.
Fully vaccinated travellers and under 18s returning from the rest of the world do not need to self-isolate nor take the Day 8 test.
Can I come to your Nottingham clinic while I am self-isolating?
Yes, you can. However, you will only be legally allowed to travel to our clinic if you have a valid PCR test appointment with us.
If you start to display COVID-19 symptoms or have reasons to suspect you may have become infected, you must not travel and take our at-home tests.

Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?
Please bring your passport with you.

Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?
You will be supplied with a unique reference number (starting VIVOC) on completion of your booking with us. You will not be allowed to enter the UK without this reference number in your passenger locator form.
How will I receive my test results?
We will send you your test results via the email address you provided at the time of booking.
When will I receive my results?
We normally supply results the next day. However, sequence testing is not always a straightforward process; on extremely rare occasions, it may take as long as 72 hours for results to be processed.
Also note, test results for sample collection appointments after 5 pm may require up to 48 hours to be ready. This is due to the courier service’s 5 pm cutoff, and we are unable to send samples to our laboratory after that time.
What should I do if I test positive?
If one of your tests come back positive, you will be required to restart your ten-day quarantine from one day after you had taken the test. All previous days you had spent self-isolating will no longer be considered valid.
What should I do if I test negative?
You must simply complete the full ten days of your quarantine.
