The Day 2 and Day 8 tests are an essential part of travelling to the UK. If you arrive in the UK, you are legally required to self-isolate for ten days; during this time, you will need to take two PCR tests. You must take the former test on or before Day 2 and the latter test on or after Day 8 of your arrival.

It is also a legal requirement for you to book the Day 2 and Day 8 tests before coming to the UK. This is because you must provide your test booking details on the passenger locator form before your flight. Failure in this regard can lead to you receiving severe fines.

It is also important to note that passengers coming in from countries on the UK’s travel ban red list must quarantine in a hotel.

  • What should I do on my arrival in England?

      Everyone arriving in the UK from overseas must self-isolate immediately upon entry. The self-isolation period will be for ten days.

      ‘Red list’ country arrivals are required to self-isolate in approved hotels. You must make the hotel self-isolation arrangements before arrival in the UK.

  • Can I come to your Peterborough clinic while I am self-isolating?

      The government permits self-isolators to travel to attend COVID-19 PCR testing. However, you must have a valid test appointment booked at our Peterborough clinic to do so.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?

      Yes, please bring a valid photo ID with you. Your passport should suffice.

  • Booking Options

      We offer the Day 2 and Day 8 tests separately and together as a package. You are welcome to book them how you like, according to your convenience.

      We also offer an at-home test for customers who would rather not have an in-clinic test.

  • Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?

      Yes.

      If you do not include the unique reference number we provide in your passenger locator form, you risk being denied entry to the UK upon arrival. The passenger locator form must be filled in prior to your travels to the UK.

  • How will I receive my test results?

      You will get your test results back via email.

  • When will I receive my results?

      We always aim for next-day results delivery. However, tests that take place after 5 pm require 48 hours for results to be ready. It is because couriers with samples are sent to the laboratory for testing by this time.

      Moreover, on extremely rare occasions, getting results may take up to 72 hours. Sequence testing is quite an intricate process, and the time taken for it to complete may take a little longer.

  • What should I do if I test positive?

      In case you test positive on either the Day 2 or the Day 8 test, you will have to restart your quarantine period from one day after the date of the test.

  • What should I do if I test negative?

      You will simply have to complete your quarantine period with no additional time. 

      For everyone eligible, they have the option to reduce their quarantine period by taking a Day 5 Test to Release.
