If you are returning to the UK from an ‘amber list’ or ‘red list’ country, you must quarantine for ten days and take PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8.

The Day 2 and Day 8 tests must be booked prior to coming to the UK. As the names suggest, the first test needs to be taken on or before Day 2 of arrival and the second test needs to be taken on or after Day 8.

In either case, if the test results in positive for COVID-19, the quarantine period will restart from one day after the test date and last a full ten days. Any days spent self-isolating prior to the test will not count any longer.

  • What should I do on my arrival in England?

      You must enter a government-mandated ten-day quarantine immediately after coming to the UK. During this time, you are required to take two PCR tests: one on Day 2 and another on Day 8.

      Please be informed that you must quarantine at a government-approved hotel if you are travelling from a ‘red list’ country. It must be arranged prior to your travel as well.

  • Can I come to your Watford clinic while I am self-isolating?

      You can come to our clinic for your PCR tests, but you need to have pre-booked test appointments with us. Also, since you are self-isolating at this time, you may only travel from your residence to our clinic and back.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me for the test?

      Yes. Please bring along a valid passport when you visit our clinic for your test appointment.

  • Booking Options

      We offer options to book each test separately or together. Depending on your need and convenience, you can book from the following options:

      • The Day 2 and Day 8 tests together,
      • The Day 2 test only,
      • The Day 8 test only,
      • Or our at-home test kits.
  • Will you provide a reference number to include in my passenger locator form?

      Of course. We provide a unique reference number (starting VIVOC) with every booking of our Day 2 and Day 8 tests.

      This number must be included when filling in the passenger locator form before travelling to the UK.

  • How will I receive my test results?

      Your test results will be sent to the email address you provided us at the time of booking.

  • When will I receive my results?

      Typically, we deliver PCR test results within 24 hours of sample collection. However, on rare occasions, it may take up to 72 hours. This is because sequence testing may take a little longer due to the complicated process.

      Also, it is important to note that when test appointments take place after 5 pm, it may take up to 48 hours for you to receive your results. The reason for this is that the courier to our laboratory usually leaves by 5 pm.

  • What should I do if I test positive?

      If your PCR test reveals that you are positive for COVID-19, you must begin a new ten-day quarantine from one day after you had taken the test.

      All the days spent in quarantine before the test will no longer count.

  • What should I do if I test negative?

      You are not required to do anything. If both the Day 2 and Day 8 tests come back negative, your quarantine ends after the mandatory ten days.

      If you are returning from an ‘amber list’ country, you can take an additional Day 5 Test to Release to shorten the quarantine period.
