How is an RT-PCR test different?
Just like the regular PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) test, an RT-PCR test involves detecting the Covid-19 virus in nose and throat swab samples. This is done through a process called ‘reverse transcription’.
An RT-PCR test result is applicable when seeking to enter any country requiring a PCR test, but many countries specifically require an RT-PCR test.
When should I book the test?
Most destinations and airline companies require negative results from tests taken within 72 hours of the journey’s start. The interval between tests and travel may vary according to country and airline company.
It is recommended that you thoroughly research your destination country and airline requirements before booking the test. Be sure to book early enough to not interfere with your travel, but not too early that the test result becomes invalid.
Our booking calendar lets you see when you will receive your results. We offer a same-day results service as well as a next-day results service.
You can find the latest guidance on the government’s website regarding travelling abroad and what to do when returning to the UK.
Will I receive certification?
Yes. If your test result is negative, we will email you with your results sheet, which is recognised by all airlines. It will also include your details, the test result with a comprehensive analysis and information of our laboratory.
What if my test result is positive?
You will not receive a fit-to-fly certificate and must self-isolate for ten days.
For further guidance, please contact the NHS online or call them on 111.
Can you provide same-day PCR test results for multiple travellers?
Yes, we can. Please call us or use the online form to book your test and the tests for your travel companions.
What do I need to bring with me to the test?
Please bring your valid passport.
Can I have a PCR test kit delivered to me instead of taking the test in-clinic?
Yes, you can have a test delivered to your house. Click here to order a home PCR travel test.
Please note, the home test is not suitable if your travel destination requires a test taken within 72 hours of travel. The home test results take up to 48 hours to be sent to you.
