PCR Travel Test Birmingham
VIVO Clinic Birmingham is now offering an in-clinic PCR Test for travel which tests for current infection of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
The test results are recognised for travel and are thus highly advisable if you are planning on leaving the country, regardless of if you suspect you have the virus.

What is a PCR Test?
Why do I need a PCR test for travel?
While travel restrictions are continuously evolving, one consistency is that you cannot travel by public transportation if:
- You have the virus
- You have recently had the virus
- You suspect you may have the virus
- You have been in contact with a person who matches one of the above criteria
Our test results are recognised for travel, so in addition to giving you peace of mind, you’ll also know if you have the virus and therefore are unable to travel.
When should I book the test?
Tests take 48 hours to process once they are received by our laboratory. The Birmingham clinic will send your sample to the lab on the day of your test via express next-day courier. Most operators require that tests are carried out within 72 hours of travel so we recommend that factor this in when choosing a date and time for your booking.
Will I get a fit-to-fly certificate?
You will receive your test results from our CQC registered lab. You can use your results sheet or email to authenticate your results when required.
The results will be supplied via email.
Can I buy tests, rather than coming to the Birmingham clinic for testing?
Yes. You can buy the sample collection kits here. Some clients prefer to receive their test in-clinic as it is done under the supervision of our experts.
Is your laboratory regulated?
Yes, we use the London Medical Laboratory which is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Certificate number: CRT1-4708702735
How reliable is the test?
Will the test tell me if I’ve recently had the virus?
Where is your clinic located?
Our clinic is in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter:
37 Vyse St
While there are excellent links to public transport, we recommend travelling alone if you suspect that you have

If you would like further information on what you should do if you receive a positive result, you should visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 or contact the NHS on 111.
Which countries can I travel to?
The countries to which you can currently travel, and their respective regulations are continuously evolving. We recommend that you visit the Government webpage which is kept up to date with the latest information and developments.
