What is a PCR Test?
PCR is a laboratory-based test that uses a nose and throat sample to test for RNA related to current coronavirus infection.
Why do I need a PCR test for travel?
In the interest of public safety, many popular holiday destinations now require that you provide a fit-to-fly certificate before being allowed into the country. Providing that your test is negative, our the results sheet (which we email to you) is fully recognised for this purposes.
When should I book the test?
When you use our booking calendar above, each slot shows when results will be sent. Results are emailed out between 4 pm and midnight. Most travel authorities require evidence of a negative test taken within 72 hours of departure however this does vary and is subject to change so please check with your travel operator and the government website to ensure you book the right slot.
We offer a same-day results service and a next-day results service for added convenience.
Will I get a fit-to-fly certificate?
The results sheet you receive via email is fully travel recognised. Please note, you must have a negative result for the results sheet to classified as a fit-to-fly certificate.
Can I buy tests, rather than coming to the Newcastle clinic for testing?

What should I do if I receive a positive result?
If you receive a positive result, this means that you are currently infected with COVID-19, and you could pose a risk to others around you. Therefore, you should self-isolate immediately, and inform those you have been in contact with in the last 7 days in case this result affects them.
