Our Tests in Comparison to Government / NHS Tests
Tests booked through the Government website are not for recreational travel purposes and do not supply you with a fit-to-fly certificate. Unnecessary strain is being put on the government system by those attempting to book tests for travel.
Our in-clinic tests are for travel purposes only. If you have COVID-19 symptoms you should book a test via the Government website or buy a test from our online shop.
What is a PCR Test?
These PCR tests are designed to detect current Covid-19 infection. A swab sample (nose and throat) is analyzed for coronavirus related RNA. Your results are sent to you via email.
Why do I need a PCR test for travel?
Most countries are taking measures to slow the spread of Covid-19. Evidence of a negative PCR test is now mandatory for many popular destinations. These tests must be obtained from a private provider.
Which countries require a PCR test?
When should I book the test?
Firstly, please ensure you are aware of the testing window required by your chosen destination. The window is most commonly 72 hours however this does vary for several countries and is subject to change for any destination. Therefore, it’s imperative that you confirm this window before booking a test.
You can check availability at the Peterborough clinic using the buttons at the top of the page. You can either choose the next-day results service or the same-day results service.
When you view the booking calendar, each slot will clearly state the window in which you will receive your test results. Use these two pieces of information to book an appropriate time and date.
Will I get a fit-to-fly certificate?
If your results are negative, the results sheet you will receive via email will be recognised by all airlines. You can see what the results sheet looks like below.

What should I do if I receive a positive result?
If you receive a positive result, this means that you are currently infected with COVID-19, and you could pose a risk to others around you. Therefore, you should self-isolate immediately, and inform those you have been in contact within the last 7 days in case this result affects them.
If you would like further information on what you should do if you receive a positive result, you should visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 or contact the NHS on 111.
Your sample collection will be supervised by our trained staff who will provide full guidance. You may also wish to familiarise yourself with the sample collection procedure prior to your appointment.
