All arrivals in England from red list countries and not fully vaccinated travellers from non-red list countries must undergo a ten-day quarantine.
However, in the latter case, your quarantine period may be shortened to as little as five days by taking part in the Test to Release scheme.
With this scheme, you can take a PCR test five days after your arrival – if it comes back negative, you can stop quarantining immediately.
The voluntary Test to Release scheme only applies to international arrivals in England from non-red list countries. If you decide to not take part in the scheme, you will still be required to complete the mandatory ten-day self-isolation period.
If you are fully vaccinated, you will not be required to self-isolate on returning from a country not on the UK’s red list.
When will I receive my results?
Our Brighton clinic provides a next-day results service for £125 and same-day results for £165.
You will receive your results by email. If the results are negative, you may stop self-isolating immediately.
What is the Clinic Address?
Our Brighton Clinic is located at the following address:
Vivo Clinic Brighton
41-43 Portland Road
How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
You will have to book your Day 5 PCR test before beginning your journey to England. You will then have to include your test appointment details when filling in your passenger locator form.
You can book an in-clinic appointment for the Day 5 PCR test with us here.
Can I travel to your Brighton clinic if I am self-isolating?
Yes. This government scheme permits you to travel to the test location. Be advised; you must restrict your travel to only going to our clinic from your quarantine location.
If you have reason to believe you may have the virus or are displaying symptoms, then you must take an at-home test.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
A swab sample will be collected from your throat and another from nose at our Brighton clinic. The samples will then be sent to our laboratory for testing.
What if I test negative?
You can discontinue self-isolating straight away if your result comes back negative.
What if I test positive?
If you test positive, you will have to self-isolate for ten days starting from the day after the test.
For the latest guidance, please check the NHS website.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
Your quarantine period is not affected; you must finish the mandatory ten days. You can book a retest to get a conclusive result if you wish.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
No. You must include details of your pre-booked PCR test on the passenger locator form before flying to England.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the UK's red list?
No. The Test to Release scheme is only for passengers travelling from non-red list countries. If you are arriving from, or have been through, a country on the red list, you must complete a ten-day quarantine period in government-approved hotel.
