Passengers reaching England from red list countries are subject to a mandatory ten-day quarantine. It also applies to people coming to the UK from other places but has not been fully vaccinated yet. However, the quarantine period for non-red country arrivals can be substantially reduced if they opt into the Test to Release scheme.
If you are not fully vaccinated and come to the UK from a non-red list country, you will become eligible for a Day 5 PCR test if you sign up for the scheme. Your quarantine will end immediately if your Day 5 test result is negative.
The Test to Release scheme can only be employed in England and only by non-red list country returnees. However, anyone who has received both their COVID-19 jabs need not quarantine on returning from countries that are not on the red list.
When will I receive my results?
We offer a next-day results service at our Cambridge clinic for £85. As well as a same-day results service for £165.
Your results will be sent to you via email.
What is the Clinic Address?

How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
When filling in the passenger locator form before your journey, you need to opt into the Test to Release scheme and include test appointment details. This means that you must book a Day 5 PCR test appointment prior to filling the form.
To book an in-clinic Day 5 PCR test appointment at our Cambridge clinic, follow the links at the top of this page.
Can I travel to your Cambridge clinic if I am self-isolating?
In order to travel to our clinic for the test, you need to have a Day 5 PCR test appointment. You will follow a restricted route, limited to visiting our clinic only.
An at-home test is available to order if you display Covid symptoms or suspect a possible infection.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
The PCR test requires samples from the nose and the throat. They are collected with a swab and analyzed in our laboratory for the virus.
What if I test negative?
You can stop quarantining as soon as you receive a negative result.
What if I test positive?
A ten-day self-isolation period begins anew from the day after the test was taken.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
You must continue the ten-day quarantine, unless a conclusive negative result can be achieved from a retest.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
Due to the passenger locator form requiring test appointment details before the start of your journey, you cannot participate after your arrival in England.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
You will be ineligible for the scheme if you have travelled from a red list country or transited through one.
You must undertake the mandatory ten-day quarantine at a government-approved hotel.
