You are legally obliged to self-isolate for ten days when you return to the UK red list countries or if you are not fully vaccinated and return from anywhere else.
For the latter instance, you can reduce your isolation period by opting into the government’s Test to Release scheme. Under this scheme, you can take a COVID-19 PCR test five days after your arrival in England. If the test result is negative, you can stop isolating immediately.
The Test to Release scheme is voluntary; if you choose not to take part, you must quarantine for the full ten days. Anyone fully vaccinated does not need to self-isolate on returning to the UK from a non-red list country.
When will I receive my results?
At our Leeds clinic, we offer a next day results service for £85 and a same-day results service for £165.
For the next day results service, you will get your results via email a day after your COVID-19 PCR test.

The Leeds PCR clinic address is:
VIVO PCR Testing Clinic

Please do not turn up to our Aire Street centre for PCR, or your appointment will be cancelled. Our Aire Street centre is for aesthetic treatments only.
How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
To participate in the scheme, you must:
- Book the Day 5 PCR test appointment before you starting your journey to England,
- Confirm in your passenger locator form that you will opt into the scheme and fill in the details of your pre-booked test appointment.
You can book an in-clinic appointment for the Day 5 PCR test with us here.
Can I travel to your Leeds clinic if I am self-isolating?
Yes, you are allowed to travel to the test location if you have a pre-booked appointment. Be advised: your travel route will be restricted between your residence and the clinic only.
You must take an at-home test if you display any symptoms or have been in close contact with someone showing symptoms.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
It is similar to regular Covid-19 PCR tests: swab samples will be collected from your throat and nose by our clinical team’s certified members. The samples will then be sent to our laboratory to be tested.
What if I test negative?
If your result verifies that you are Covid-negative, you may stop isolating right away.
What if I test positive?
A positive result means that you have to start another ten-day quarantine counting from the day after you took the test.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
You must continue to quarantine as your isolation period remains unchanged. You may choose to book a retest.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
Unfortunately, you cannot. To opt into the scheme, you are required to include test appointment details in the passenger locator form before your flight to the UK.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the red list?
Passengers flying from a red list country are not eligible for the Test to Release scheme. If you arrive from a country in the red list or had a flight transit in one, you must complete a mandatory ten-day self-isolation at a government-approved hotel.
