On arriving in England, red list country travellers and persons who have travelled from the rest of the world but are not fully vaccinated must quarantine for ten days. However, for the non-red list country arrivals, this self-isolation period can be reduced to five days if you opt in to the Test to Release scheme.
The Test to Release scheme enables eligible travellers to take a Covid-19 PCR test five days after their arrival. If the result comes back negative for Covid, then the self-isolation period effectively ends early.
Please note that participation in this scheme is entirely voluntary and applies only to the people self-isolating in England.
When will I receive my results?
We offer a same-day results service for £85 and a next-day results service for £144 at our Central London clinic.
You will receive your test results through email.

How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?

Can I travel to your London (Central) clinic if I am self-isolating?
Yes, you can if you have a pre-booked Day 5 PCR test appointment. The journey would be restricted to only going to and returning from the test centre.
If you display any of the symptoms or have reason to suspect that you may be infected, you must take an at-home test.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
The COVID-19 PCR test involves collecting swab samples from your nose and throat. The samples are then prepared and sent to the laboratory for testing.
What if I test negative?
A negative test result means you can end quarantining right away.
What if I test positive?
If you test positive, you must restart your ten-day quarantine from the day after your test.
Visit the NHS website for the latest advice.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
Your quarantine period remains unaffected. You may book a retest.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
No. You must enter details of your pre-booked test appointment on your passenger locator form before journeying to England.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
No. Passengers who are arriving from a red list country, or have been through one, must quarantine for the mandatory ten days.
