Opt into the Test to Release scheme and take a Day 5 PCR test at VIVO Clinic’s Manchester Airport branch for a shortened quarantine period.
On arriving in the UK, passengers must quarantine for ten days and take PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8. However, if you are coming in from an ‘amber list’ country, you can have your quarantine shortened to as little as five days.
By opting into the government’s Test to Release scheme, you can take an additional PCR test on Day 5. If the result of this test shows that you are negative for COVID-19, you can stop self-isolating. You will still have to take the Day 8 test.
Taking part in the Test to Release scheme is completely voluntary and applicable for only those self-isolating in England.
When will I receive my results?
At our Manchester Airport clinic, we offer next-day results delivery for £125 and same-day results for 165
We will send the test results your way via email. On receiving a negative result, you will be able to stop self-isolating right away.

How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?

Can I travel to your Manchester clinic if I am self-isolating?
You can. Even if you are self-isolating, you can travel to attend a PCR test appointment. However, you must have a pre-booked appointment at our Manchester Airport clinic to travel here.
If you display any COVID-19 symptoms, please take an at-home Day 5 Test to Release.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
The Test to Release is a standard PCR test, which uses swab samples from your nose and throat to determine the presence of COVID-19 RNA.
What if I test negative?
If you test negative on Day 5 PCR test, you are free to stop self-isolating right away. However, you must still take the Day 8 test.
What if I test positive?
If you test positive, you must restart your ten-day quarantine. The new quarantine period will start a day after the test date. Any days previously spent self-isolating will not count any longer.
Please refer to the NHS website for further guidance.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
You may book a retest with us or complete the rest of your quarantine period.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
As opting into the Test to Release scheme requires you to book the Day 5 PCR test before your arrival in England, it will not be possible.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
No, you may not. Only passengers arriving from ‘amber list’ countries are eligible to participate in the Test to Release scheme.
