Persons who are not fully vaccinated are legally obligated to quarantine for ten days after arriving in the UK from non-red list countries. This quarantine period can be lowered down to five days using the Test to Release scheme.
You can have a COVID-19 PCR test done five days after you arrive in England through this scheme. If the result comes back negative, you can discontinue your quarantine.
Be advised that this scheme is only valid for self-isolating people in England who travelled from non-red list countries, and participation is entirely voluntary.
When will I receive my results?
Our Middlesbrough branch provides a next-day results package for £125 and same-day results package for £165.
Your test result will be dispatched via email. If it comes back negative, you may cease self-isolating.
What is the Clinic Address?
The address of our Middlesbrough Clinic is:
Park View Medical Clinic
276 Marton Road
How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
To participate in the scheme, you must choose it in your passenger locator form with details of your pre-booked test appointment before coming to England. For that, you need to book a Day 5 PCR test in advance.
You can book an in-clinic appointment for the test at our Middlesbrough clinic here.
Can I travel to your Middlesbrough clinic if I am self-isolating?
Yes, you can, given that you have a prior COVID-19 test appointment booked with us. Your travel route will be restricted to between your residence and the clinic only.
If you have any symptoms or have cause to suspect that you may be infected, please take an at-home test.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
Swab samples will be taken from your nose and throat. The samples are then tested in our laboratory to see if you have the virus. The collection and testing processes are overseen by certified personnel.
What if I test negative?
You can stop self-isolating immediately if you get a negative test result.
What if I test positive?
When you receive a positive test result, you must start a separate ten-day quarantine cycle starting from the day after your test.
Visit the NHS website for the latest recommendation.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
It is advisable to book a retest in such a case. However, you must keep self-isolating.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
No. As mentioned previously, you must include on your passenger locator form the details of a pre-booked test appointment before coming to England. For that, you need to book a COVID-19 PCR test in advance.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
The Test to Release scheme is not offered to persons travelling from, or via, a red list country. If you are arriving from such a country, you must self-isolate for ten days.
