The UK’s travel law requires international arrivals from red and amber list countries to quarantine for ten days on reaching England (exemptions apply). However, amber list passengers who opt into the Test to Release scheme may only need to self-isolate for five days.
Test to Release scheme users can take a COVID-19 PCR test five days after their arrival in England. A negative test result permits them to stop self-isolating immediately.
The Test to Release scheme is a voluntary one, and it is only for those who have to self-isolate in England.
Following a government update, fully vaccinated and under 18s travellers are not required to self-isolate when travelling into the UK from most amber list countries.
When will I receive my results?
The next-day results service at our Nottingham clinic is £125.
Your test results will be emailed to you.
What is the Clinic Address?
Based inside West Bridgford Therapy Rooms
152c Radcliffe Road
How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
First, you must arrange a COVID-19 test appointment before starting your travel.
Then, when filling out your passenger locator form, you must include your test appointment details to opt in to the Test to Release scheme successfully.
Can I travel to your Nottingham clinic if I am self-isolating?
Yes. As long as you have a COVID-19 PCR test appointment, you can travel to our clinic. However, you can only travel to the test centre and straight back to your abode.
In case you suspect a possible infection or display symptoms, you must take an at-home test.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
Samples from your nose and throat are collected with a swab; they are then transferred to our laboratory to be tested for COVID-19.
What if I test negative?
You will no longer be obligated to self-isolate.
What if I test positive?
On testing positive, you need to start a ten-day quarantine anew from a day after your test date.
Check the NHS website for the latest information.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
Your quarantine period will stay unaffected.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
No. The necessity of entering test appointment details on the passenger locator form before travelling to England prevents you from doing so.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
No. Passengers who arrive from or transit through a red list country are not eligible to take part in the Test to Release scheme.
