Passengers returning to the UK from non-red list countries who are not fully vaccinated must quarantine for a period of ten days. While red list country returnees, regardless of vaccination status, are required to observe the quarantine period at an approved hotel, not fully vaccinated people coming in from the rest of the world have a chance for a reduced quarantine period.
They can opt into the Test to Release scheme. If you participate in this scheme, you can take a PCR test on Day 5 of your quarantine. Your quarantine period will end effectively early if you get a negative for this test.
Please note, taking part in this scheme is completely voluntary and only valid for people self-isolating in England. The Test to Release scheme works in addition to the Day 2 and Day 8 tests and not as a substitute.
When will I receive my results?
Our Watford clinic offers a next-day results service for £85 and a same-day results service that comes down to £165.
You will receive the results of your test via email as soon as they are ready.
What is the Clinic Address?
Our Watford Clinic is located at:
Inside Skin Transform
186 New Road
How can I opt into the Test to Release scheme?
To opt in to the Test to Release scheme, you must book your Day 5 test ahead of your flight to England. This is because you will be required to confirm that you are choosing to utilize the scheme in your pre-flight passenger locator form. You will be required to show this form to the border police on arriving in England.
Can I travel to your Bristol clinic if I am self-isolating?
As long as you have a pre-booked PCR test appointment with us, you can come to our Watford clinic during your quarantine period. Please be aware, your travel must remain strictly limited between your residence and our clinic only.
Please take an at-home test if you suspect you are infected or exhibit any of the symptoms.
How does the Test to Release PCR test work?
A polymerase chain reaction test or a PCR test analyses nose and throat swab samples to determine the presence of COVID-19 RNA. The Test to Release is a standard PCR test.
What if I test negative?
You can end self-isolating immediately after receiving a negative result. You must still take a Day 8 test.
What if I test positive?
If you receive a positive test result, the days you spent in quarantine will be rendered void and you must restart a ten-day quarantine from one day after you had taken the PCR test.
What if my test result is inconclusive?
You must complete the original ten-day quarantine. You may book a retest, however.
Can I take part in the scheme after I arrive in England?
As your test appointment details need to be included in your passenger locator form ahead of your journey, you will not be able to take part in the scheme after coming to England.
Can I take part in the scheme if I am travelling from a country on the travel ban red list?
You will not be able to opt in to the Test to Release scheme if you return to England from a red list country.
The Test to Release scheme is applicable only for people coming to England from rest of the world.
