What tests do Vivo Clinic Provide?

VIVO Clinic offers both postal and in-clinic PCR Tests for travel to USA, as well as Antigen (Lateral Flow Tests) to check for current infection of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). What is meant by PCR and Antigen (Lateral Flow Tests)?

Our clinic experts take nasal and throat swabs in a PCR test. This test searches for Covid-19 coronavirus RNA, where this is detected, a positive result arises. Some countries need a negative RT-PCR test result, Vivo Clinic tests also comply with this requirement.

Our Antigen test (lateral flow test) collects swabs in the same way and its purpose is to detect Covid-19 antigens. Choose this test for a lower cost, quick, and convenient test.

How do I find my nearest clinic?

Visit and you are presented with a list of all Vivo clinics.

Why do I need to have a Covid-19 test to travel?

To travel to the United States, you need to prove that you are free of Covid-19. This can be achieved by taking a Covid-19 test (PCR or Antigen) and following a negative result, we can send a fit-to-fly certificate.

Can I book more than one test?

Yes! Book, for up to six people at a time.

What is a fit-to-fly certificate? Will I receive one?

A fit-to-fly certificate contains proof of your Covid-19 health status and your “fitness to fly”. You will be eligible to receive this certificate when you have a negative PCR or Antigen test.

Positive or negative, Vivo Clinic will email your results from our CQC registered lab. The results sheet from a negative result can be used as a fit-to-fly certificate.

You may need an instant Fit-to-Fly certificate for your US trip, in which case you can purchase our premium service. With this premium service, your fit-to-fly certificate is sent instantly via email and SMS. The certificate includes a QR code for speedy validation.

What information will the fit-to-fly certificate contain?

The Fit to Fly travel certificate provided to you will include your full name, date of birth, laboratory and test credentials, passport number, time and date of sample, and time and date of the report. This should be all the airports and US clearance authorities need.

Do I have to visit a clinic for testing?

No, you can test at home too! We sell sample collection PCR kits and Antigen test kits online to use for home testing. These tests are just as effective and give everything you need for your trip to the United States.

Is your laboratory regulated?

Yes, the Vivo Clinic laboratory is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Our certificate number is CRT1-4708702735.

How long do PCR and Antigen tests take?

Your appointment from start to finish takes about fifteen minutes.

What happens at the appointment, should I bring my passport?

Here is what happens at the appointment:

  • Expect the appointment to last for about 15 minutes
  • Our expert staff will collect nasal and throat swabs
  • There will be some admin. A form with both contact and personal information will be completed. With this information, we will then be able to complete your fit-to-fly certificate
  • A valid passport (i.e., still in date) for the person completing the test is needed
  • Full additional guidance will be given by our experienced staff

Can I come to a clinic when I suspect I have Covid-19, or I am self-isolating?

We strongly recommend taking at-home tests if you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone with symptoms. Buy home tests that are perfect for your US trip at these links – Antigen and PCR.
