Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, aids in the rejuvenation of facial skin through enhanced production of collagen and elastin.

This treatment is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can be used to effectively reduce skin conditions like acne scars, wrinkles, hypo/hyperpigmentation and stretch marks.

Microneedling causes trauma (through the use of tiny needles) to the dermis and as a result causes the natural release of collagen and elastin to tighten, lift and brighten the appearance of the skin.

Microneedling can also be used to treat other areas of the body too. These include neck, décolletage, back, stomach, thighs and buttocks

Microneedling provides improvement from within

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the insertion of fine, short needles into the skin to rejuvenate it.

These tiny needles create small contact points that stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing response, promoting the renewal of skin cells.

As the skin repairs itself, the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated, resulting in an immediate plumping effect.

Moreover, it can help address a range of skin issues, such as scarring, sun damage, dark marks, and signs of ageing.

 

Possible side effects with treatment:

Redness, mild swelling, bruising, sensitivity, tenderness, itchiness, tracking (red style track marks), white spot and light flaking of the skin. There will also be a noticeable increase in skin temperature which is completely normal for this type of treatment.

 

Please note – if booking online to benefit from the 10% discount you will only be able to book your first session. On the day of your appointment the consultant will then discuss how many sessions you will benefit from and will then apply a 10% discount to this.

Can microneedling be done on dark skin?

How many in-clinic sessions are required for the best results?

To get the most out of the treatment, it’s best to undergo multiple sessions. We advise a minimum of 3 sessions, however, for optimal result we advise between 6 – 12 in-clinic sessions. A single treatment is unlikely to achieve the desired results for an extended period of time. The number of sessions require will vary depending on the areas that are been targeted.

We typically recommend spacing out treatments by 3 – 4 weeks to give your skin enough time to recover and stimulate collagen production.

How long does a single in-clinic session last?

The in-clinic procedure will last 60 minutes. This will include pre treatment consultation, skin analysis, cleanse and prep followed by the administration of the treatment itself. This treatment will be concluded through application of a collagen boosting facial mask. For advanced results it is recommended to add on the LED Light Therapy treatment.

Does the procedure require the use of anaesthesia?

No, our clients who undergo the procedure do not require anaesthesia. However, a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment areas of individuals who have very sensitive skin.

How long is the downtime following the procedure?

Following the procedure you will be able to leave clinic immediately, however, it is important to understand the side effects in relation to microneedling.

There will be redness and swelling following the procedure which typically can last up to 48 hours post treatment. Some of our clients have also reported sensitivity in the area of treatment. An itching sensation is also completely normal and can last up to 48 hours too.

 

Is microneedling a safe procedure?

Yes, it is a safe procedure. Moreover, the practitioners who perform the treatment at our clinics are trained and experienced professionals.

Is microneedling painful?

While microneedling may result in some mild discomfort, it is not a painful procedure.

Can the procedure be done alongside other treatments?

Microneedling can create fantastic long lasting results when combined with other skin treatments that we offer.

 

Microneedling can be paired with both Hydrafacial and LED Light Therapy. These treatments can be conducted during the same appointment slot.

 

Microneedling can also be paired with HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) and Radiofrequency, however, you must wait a minimum of 7 days between these treatments.
