Fat Freezing - Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis is generally highly effective.

The intended outcome of the procedure is to remove stubborn fat deposits from areas of the body which are non-responsive to diets and exercises.

The result is a treated area that is toned and slim.

Research results also show that the rate of success of cryolipolysis is high.

As the adult body only has a limited quantity of fat cells, fat removal through cryolipolysis is permanent.

Maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle following the treatment can make the results potentially permanent.

The applicator’s size is approximately 20cm, similar to the palm of your hand. Using the palm of your hand as a template will allow you to determine how many applicators are needed. It is important to note that all of the stubborn fat within the treatment area should be targeted to avoid indentations where fat has been destroyed in some areas and not destroyed in others.

For the upper abdomen OR lower abdomen, this will usually require 1 to 2 applicators.  Use the palm of your hand as a guide and if the stubborn fat pocket is less than 20cm you will need 1 applicator, however, if it is more than 20cm you will need 2 applicators. Based on this if you have stubborn fat on the upper abdomen AND lower abdomen you will require 2 to 4 applicators.

The flanks also referred to as the love handles will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right flank is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if there is stubborn fat above this, you will then require 4 applicators. Based on this if you have stubborn fat on the upper abdomen, lower abdomen and flanks you will need between 4 to 8 applicators. Again, use the palm of your hand as a guide.

The lower back will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right lower back is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if there is stubborn fat above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

The bra back will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right bra back is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if there is stubborn fat above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

The chest which can only be treated on men will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right chest is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if stubborn fat is above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

The inner thighs will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right inner thigh is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if stubborn fat is above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

The outer thighs will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right outer thigh is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if stubborn fat is above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

Under the bum will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right under the bum area is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if stubborn fat is above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

The buttock itself will require 2 – 4 applicators. If the stubborn fat on the left and right buttocks is comfortably covered using 1 applicator on each side, this will only require 2 applicators. However, if stubborn fat is above/below this, you will require 4 applicators.

Use the palm of your hand to determine how many applicators are required and tally up the total number. This will then determine the number of applicators you need to book.

360° Freeze is an upgraded form of cryolipolysis.

Where the ordinary cryolipolysis procedure uses applicators capable of thoroughly freezing fat from two sides, the 360° Freeze applicators can target fat cells from all angles, including difficult-to-reach ones.

The 360° Freeze, essentially, kills more fat cells per session due to improved coverage and temperature control.

Most people who undergo cryolipolysis are able to benefit from the desired results after 1 to 2 in-clinic sessions.

Nevertheless, certain aspects factor into the number of sessions that may be needed.

These factors include the size of the treatment area and how an individual’s body responds to the treatment.

Thus, some individuals may need more in-clinic sessions to receive the best results.

Each cryolipolysis session must be scheduled at least 4 weeks apart.

A single in-clinic fat freezing session can result in the removal of 22% – 45% fat cells, on average, from the area being treated.

Again, how much fat is ultimately removed after a single fat freezing session is subjective and is different for everyone.

And so, the actual percentage may vary from the average stated above.

Common side effects of cryolipolysis include swelling and redness.

Both effects tend to be very mild, and they typically subside within a few days.

Though not very common, some people experience temporary soreness in the treated area.

The feeling has been described as being similar to post-workout soreness.

No time at all.

As cryolipolysis is not a surgical procedure, there is no subsequent downtime.

Not having to recover afterwards is one of the significant cryolipolysis benefits in comparison to traditional liposuction surgery.

Patients can count on being able to resume their regular activities immediately after they have undergone the treatment.

Cryolipolysis does not aid in weight loss.

While significant quantities of fat cells can be removed from the body using this procedure, the loss in weight is negligible.

Cryolipolysis is a permanent fat removal treatment.

This means that the fat cells that are removed using the fat freezing method are gone for good.

This happens because the number of fat cells in an adult’s body is finite. So, the body will not replace or restore the cells once removed.

However, following the treatment, if the body experiences excessive caloric intake, the remaining fat cells will be used to store the extra calories.

Resultantly, the leftover fat cells may grow in size to accommodate the additional content.

Cryolipolysis is only suitable for ridding the body of stubborn patches of fat in certain areas of the body that exercise and diet alone cannot.

Cryolipolysis cannot be used for treating obesity or for weight loss.
