Alternatives to Blepharoplasty Surgery

Sometimes, eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) is medically necessary. For instance, doctors may recommend it to those with superior visual field loss of at least 24%, chin-up head tilt, or down-gaze ptosis. If you’re struggling with eye strain, this procedure may help.

The best candidates for blepharoplasty are people 35 years or older. Being in good health is a must. If you’re genetically prone to droopy eyelids or dark circles, you may have the procedure done at a younger age.

Blepharoplasty Soft Surgery

Does Blepharoplasty have risks?

Since blepharoplasty isn’t major surgery, it carries fewer risks compared to other procedures. Recovery is usually quick. Most patients experience minimal bruising and swelling that go away within days. After-care is essential.

In rare cases, excessive bleeding may occur. The surgeon could also remove too much or too little skin, which requires corrective procedures. However, most people will never need a second intervention.

Alternatives to Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty is an option for fixing droopy eyelids. However, it’s not the only option. It all comes down to your needs. Alternatives include Botox shots, skin resurfacing, injectable dermal fillers, and ultherapy. You can also use eye serums and creams, but these may or may not work.

One of the most effective alternatives is Plasma soft surgery which is sometimes also referred to as to as Blepharoplasty.

Dermal fillers, for instance, restore lost volume to your skin and lift sagging brows. This procedure is minimally invasive and provides immediate results.

Skin resurfacing includes various treatments, such as micro-needling, chemical peeling, IPL, and microdermabrasion. It helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while firming up loose skin. Several sessions are needed to achieve noticeable improvements.

Another option is ultherapy, a non-invasive treatment that stimulates collagen production and tightens your skin. It requires no downtime and produces results within three to 12 months. Its effects last for about two years.

Now that you know your options, decide whether or not blepharoplasty is the way to go. Discuss with a plastic surgeon before going under the knife. Eyelid surgery can turn back the clock and dramatically improve your appearance, but it’s not the only solution.
