New Year, New You: Ideas for New Year’s Resolutions
It’s 2019 already! We all know what that means – it’s your chance to start over and do things right. There is no better time than the New Year to make new goals and motivate yourself to achieve them.
2019 is your prime opportunity to become the person you have always wanted to be. We have come up with some ideas for New Year’s resolutions to help you be healthier, happier and feel amazing.
Lose weight
This is a very popular New Year’s resolution. The majority of us are guilty of overeating around Christmas time, and this can lead to bad habits. Therefore, losing weight and working towards your perfect body is a great way to kickstart 2019. It is important not to obsess about losing weight as this has negative consequences on your mind and body. However, if you set yourself small and manageable targets, you can lose weight healthily and positively. Furthermore, this is the perfect opportunity to get into exercise and learn more about the capabilities of your body. Even if it is just losing those pockets of fat that are hard to get rid of, you will feel more confident and be ready to show off your body!
Build muscle
You can combine this New Year’s resolution with the one mentioned above. Exercise is an excellent way of trying new things and testing your limits. Is there a better way to start the New Year than proving to yourself that you are capable of anything you put your mind to? When you use exercise to build muscle, this typically helps you to lose fat as well. Building muscle through exercise is a fantastic way of getting rid of stubborn fat, and toning your body. Moreover, you will feel strong, and ready to push yourself to try new challenges.
Moisturise once every day
This New Year’s resolution is orientated explicitly towards your skin. Our skin is the largest organ in the body and rejuvenates and repairs itself every day when we sleep. However, a lot of us take our skin for granted and don’t give it the help it needs. If your skin is naturally dry or oily, this New Year’s resolution could make a huge difference to the quality and appearance of your skin. Moisturise every day before you go to bed and/or when you get up in the morning, and your skin will thank you for it! A lot of factors such as poor sleep, make-up and smoking can decrease the vitality of the skin and even cause premature ageing. As a result of this, moisturising ensures that your skin is clean, hydrated and helps it to maintain its youthful and fresh appearance.
Eat healthily
Kick that habit of eating food that you know is bad for you! After a long day at work, it is all too easy to grab a takeaway or eat unhealthy food. The New Year is the perfect time to change your routine for the better and encourage yourself to cook nutritious meals. You do not even need to have a lot of time, so there are no excuses! There are hundreds of meals that are easy and healthy to make such as soup. Furthermore, you can cook large quantities that provide you with meals for a few days in a row, saving yourself time and money. Feeling healthy boosts your mood and makes you feel better about yourself.
Love yourself!
This is our favourite New Year’s resolution! At VIVO Body Studio, we want to help people love who they are and be proud of their bodies. If you struggle with self-esteem, try and think of something you love about yourself every day. Give compliments to your reflection in the mirror. It may sound silly, but it will help you to feel confident and appreciate yourself more. Treat yourself every once in a while as well; you deserve it!
