It is very effective.

Cryolipolysis is used for the removal of fat patches from certain areas of the body, like the abdomen and thighs, which are otherwise non-responsive to exercises and diets.

In its function, cryolipolysis has a very high success rate. This study reveals that 86% of the subjects who underwent treatment showed improvement.

Fat Freezing

Each in-clinic session of our fat freezing procedure is capable of reducing an average of 22% – 45% of fat cells with permanent effect.

However, VIVO Clinic cannot guarantee a particular percentage as every individual responds in different ways to the treatment.

In the case of the majority of our clients, they tend achieve their desired treatments following 1- 2 in-clinic sessions.

No, it is not supposed to.

The intended results of the fat freezing treatment are very specific: aid in losing stubborn patches of fat from certain regions around the body.

Usually, the fat cells targeted via the treatment are unresponsive to other fat-reduction activities like dieting and exercising.

Although cryolipolysis can help shed significant amounts of fat, it is never enough for any substantial weight-loss effects.

Fortunately, the fat cells removed using cryolipolysis are lost permanently.

The adult human body does not reproduce nor replace the fat cells removed following the procedure.

However, with an unhealthy lifestyle and excess intake of calories, the remaining fat cells will grow bigger to compensate for and store the extra calories.

The mild and temporary side effects of a cryolipolysis procedure are redness and swelling.

These appear on the treated areas and fade away fairly quickly – a few days at most.

Some people also experience some mild soreness, similar to the kind that people have working out at the gym.

A lot of our clients do only have the treatment performed on their tummies.

However, the statement that cryolipolysis is only for the stomach is a misconception.

Not only can the treatment be used on other areas of the body, but it is also just as effective.

You can treat the following areas of the body with cryolipolysis at our Glasgow location:

  • Chin
  • Arms
  • Chest
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Upper and lower back

Cryolipolysis is nothing like traditional fat reduction surgeries.

Since no incisions or surgical cuts are made, and no anaesthetics are used, there is nothing to recover from after the fat freezing procedure.

If you are thinking about undergoing the procedure, you can rest assured, knowing that you will not be required to take any time off from work or set any time aside for recovery.

Most of our clients have been able to achieve their intended results after undergoing 1 – 2 in-clinic procedures.

However, depending on the size of the fat deposit being treated and how an individual’s body responds to the treatment, more than 2 sessions may be required.

Fat Freezing is not a suitable treatment if you are looking for help with obesity.

Cryolipolysis is an effective treatment for reducing fat deposits from areas of the body and giving those areas a toned and trimmed look.

Fat Freezing cannot remove or reduce cellulite.

If you want a similarly non-surgical procedure for cellulite removal, you can use our Cellulite Reduction Treatment available at our Glasgow location.

Cryolipolysis is not the treatment for you if you are after a non-surgical remedy for loose or stretched-out skin.

For the stomach region, we offer the Radio Frequency Tummy Tightening at our Glasgow clinic.

For facial skin, HIFU Facelift is an incredible non-invasive skin-tightening treatment option.

Through the course of the procedure, particular regions of the body are targeted to remove collections of fat that are non-responsive to workout and diet regimes.

These areas of fat are then subjected to sub-zero temperatures, which then dismantle the fat cells permanently.

The dead fat cells are then flushed out of the body naturally via the lymphatic system.

Although the freezing temperature very effectively crystallises fat cells, the rest of the connective tissues and outer skin that is exposed to it remain unharmed.

A vacuum applicator is used to produce temperatures between -7°C and -8°C.

The procedure goes on for around 90 minutes in our Glasgow clinic.

Cryolipolysis is an officially approved cosmetic procedure, having received certifications in 2010 from the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

The technique was discovered by scientists when observing paediatric patients enjoying ice lollies. They noticed that dimples formed on the sides of the cheeks where the cold lollies had prolonged contact.

Further tests were conducted to confirm the phenomena where the cold would kill fat cells but did not otherwise cause harm to the surrounding skin or other connective tissues.
