Fat Freezing can produce very effective results in people who undergo it.

This 2018 research concludes that ‘cryolipolysis was safe and effective in the treatment of localized fat in the flanks and abdominal region.’

However, it is important to note that the purpose of the treatment is the non-surgical removal of fat deposits which are otherwise non-responsive to physical activities or restrictive eating regimes.

Fat Freezing

The amount of fat that is reduced in the course of a single clinical session is highly subjective.

The average fat reduction in a single session range between 22% – 45%.

Because of such disparate reductions occurring in different individuals, VIVO Clinic is unable to guarantee any specific results following a single session.

In most cases, more than one clinical session is required before patients are able to see their desired results.

Cryolipolysis cannot aid in meeting weight loss goals.

As stated in a previous section, the treatment specifically addresses fat deposits around the body, ‘which are otherwise non-responsive physical activities or restrictive eating regimes.’

Although a significant amount of fat cells can be removed over the course of the treatment, it is never sufficient to result in the reduction of weight.

As the adult human body is home to a limited quantity of fat cells, the fat cells removed via cryolipolysis are done so permanently.

However, following the treatment, the body can still collect deposits of fat, with the remaining cells storing excess calories and growing larger.

So, while the fat removal is permanent, it is possible to still regain the fat if a healthy lifestyle is not followed.

Fat Freezing procedures do not result in any serious or major side effects.

Following an in-clinic session, it is not unusual for the treated area to swell a little and become slightly red.

These effects are always mild, and they subside relatively fast in a matter of a few days following the clinical procedure.

It is also not out of place with cryolipolysis for some people to feel slightly sore in the area of the treatment immediately after the in-clinic session.

This soreness is similar to the delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) felt after a workout.

It is a common misconception that cryolipolysis is a treatment meant for abdominal fat reduction.

Fatty deposits can be removed just as effectively from multiple areas of the body.

At our Leeds clinic, we treat the following areas:

  • Chin
  • Arms
  • Chest
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Upper and lower back

There is no need for post-treatment recovery following cryolipolysis.

The Fat Freezing procedure is totally non-surgical. Essentially, there are no surgical cuts or anaesthetics to recover from.

If you are on the fence about the treatment because you were not willing to take time off from work, that is not an issue with cryolipolysis.

You can immediately return to your scheduled activities straight out of our Leeds clinic, whether it be work, shopping, or any other thing.

On average, patients are able to see effective fat reduction results following up to two in-clinic procedures.

However, with each individual’s body’s unique response to the treatment, the number of sessions required for successful outcomes tends to vary.

You can find out how many sessions you will need following the initial clinical consultation.

No, obesity and other related conditions cannot be treated with cryolipolysis.

Fat Freezing is specifically used for targeting stubborn fat deposits that are hard to get rid of through only diets and exercise.

Cryolipolysis is not a suitable treatment for addressing cellulite. This includes the region of the body where fat is being removed from.

If you are looking for a non-surgical treatment to help with your cellulite, you can try out the Cellulite Reduction Treatment that is offered at VIVO Clinic Leeds.

Cryolipolysis cannot effectively help tighten loosened or sagging skin, even in the areas where fat is being reduced.

Non-surgical skin tightening treatments available at our Leeds clinic include:

The treatment uses an innovative freezing technique to remove fat cells permanently.

A vacuum applicator subjects specific fatty areas of the body to freezing cold temperatures of around -7°C.

The focused cold crystallises the fat cells, and then these cells are purged from the body via the lymphatic system.

Once the use of the applicator is done, the clinician will gently massage the treatment area.

The end result is a body that is more toned with evidence of definition in and around the regions that underwent the fat freezing treatment.

The in-clinic session, as a whole, takes about 90 minutes.
