Lip fillers are a type of dermal filler used to shape and plumpen the lips for a fuller appearance. They are achieved using minute injections.
These products can be also used for lip augmentation. When injected in the lips, they enhance their appearance by adding volume, structure, and shape. Most formulas contain hyaluronic acid or collagen plus a local anaesthetic, such as lidocaine.
The procedure takes less than an hour and has instant results. Your lips will look fuller in just 15 to 20 minutes. Some patients may experience slight bruising and swelling. However, these side effects go away within days.
To maintain the results, use lip fillers every three to 12 months. If you don’t like the shape, the dermatologist can inject hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves the filler.
Depending on your preferences, you can have just one or both lips injected. To get more volume, get several injections over the next few months. Lip size can be gradually increased over time. Beware that each filler can achieve different results, so discuss your options before getting treatment.
Celebrities that use lip fillers
Fuller lips are a much sought after look, which is why lip fillers and lip enhancements are popular in the celebrity community.
Celebs such as Iggy Azalea, Renee Zellweger, Megan Fox, Nicole Kidman, Lindsay Lohan, and Kylie Jenner are all thought to have had lip filler injections.
