Botox Aftercare: Essential Tips for the Best Results

BOTOX® has minimal impact on your daily activities, allowing you to resume most of your regular routine quickly. However, following a few aftercare tips is crucial for ensuring the best results. Below is a guide on what you should do and avoid following a BOTOX® treatment.

What Should I Avoid Doing After a BOTOX® Treatment?

  • Avoid excessive rubbing or massaging: Especially within the first four hours after treatment, avoid touching or massaging the treated area.

  • Limit alcohol intake: Avoid drinking excessive alcohol in the first 24 hours post-treatment to help prevent bruising.

  • Strenuous exercise: Refrain from any intense physical activities for at least 24 hours to avoid pressure on the treated areas.

  • Tight headwear: Avoid wearing hats or headbands that may constrict the treated area.

  • Stay upright: For the first four hours, avoid lying down to ensure the treatment settles correctly

How Long Before I Can Exercise Again?

After the first four hours, light exercise, such as jogging, can be resumed. During this period, ensure that you engage in upright activities. More strenuous exercises can be resumed after 24 hours, giving your skin time to fully adjust.

Are There Any Side Effects?

While BOTOX® is generally a safe procedure, like any treatment, there is a small risk of side effects. These may include temporary bruising or swelling at the injection site. For more information on potential side effects, please refer to the BOTOX® side-effects page. If you experience any adverse reactions, contact us immediately at 3330 124 065

How Long Do BOTOX® Results Last?

BOTOX® offers long-lasting results, typically lasting between 12-16 weeks, although the exact duration may vary from person to person. Regular treatments can help maintain smoother, wrinkle-free skin.

Can I Have BOTOX® More Than Once?

Yes! BOTOX® is a temporary treatment that softens fine lines and wrinkles. You can schedule a top-up treatment once the effects begin to fade.

Can I Wear Makeup After BOTOX®?

While makeup is generally safe after BOTOX®, we recommend that you avoid wearing makeup during your treatment. After the procedure, refrain from applying makeup for at least one hour to avoid irritation at the injection site.

Will BOTOX® Affect My Sleep?

BOTOX® will not directly affect your sleep. However, it’s important to remain upright for at least four hours following your treatment. We recommend avoiding going to bed during this time to ensure the treatment settles properly.
