Many of us encounter problems with our circulation over time, perhaps due to age or a change in weight. Furthermore, those of us who have a desk job and spend long hours of the day sitting down may be more likely to develop circulation issues. Bad circulation can lead to complications such as tiredness and decreased brain function, and in more serious cases, blood clots.
As a result of this, we have put together a list of ideas on how to improve your blood circulation so that you can avoid any risks to your health. Don’t worry – these don’t involve major changes to your routine and are easy to implement.
Exercise
If you exercise regularly, it can improve your blood circulation. Even if it is taking the dog for a walk, it could potentially lower your risk of heart problems or blood clots. This is particularly important if you are older and are not as active, because you are at a higher risk of heart complications. Exercise can also help prevent weight gain and reduces stress by releasing endorphins, both of which are beneficial for your blood circulation.

Stop Smoking
Smoking damages the blood vessels in various ways. The chemicals released from smoking can narrow blood vessels, in addition to increasing the thickness of blood. The combination of these two factors significantly increases your vulnerability to complications such as heart attacks and blood clots. Your blood pressure will rise as your heart is working harder, and less oxygen is transported around the body which could have effects such as making you feel tired.
Therefore, if you stop smoking, you can help to improve your circulation. You may not be able to undo all of the damage that has been done to the blood vessels. However, you can reduce the risk of serious problems occurring in the future.
Diet
Your diet can have a significant impact on your blood circulation. If you maintain a healthy diet, this can help to ensure that your body is functioning as it should. Vitamin C is useful because it aids in the repair of blood vessels, and prevents the build up of plaque along the vessel walls. Other foods such as cayenne pepper and green vegetables can also improve blood circulation, and fish that are rich in omega-3 are beneficial because they make the blood thinner and reduce the risk of blockages.
Furthermore, tea has been shown to have a positive impact on blood circulation. Certain types of tea are useful in lowering the acidity levels in the blood and making you feel less tired.

Hot Water
It is scientifically proven that hot water can improve blood circulation. This works by expanding the blood vessels in the body so that more blood can flow. This is the excuse you need to take a nice hot bath in the evening! If you do not fancy a bath or shower, then you can achieve a similar effect by having a hot drink.
Massage
The pressure applied during a massage boosts blood circulation to the treated areas. This is especially good regarding healing, as the increased blood circulation will promote the repair of cells and tissues. Massages can also help with the circulation of the lymphatic system, which gets rid of toxins from the body. Our Lymphatic Vacuum Massage does exactly this, with the added benefits of improving general wellbeing and reducing signs of blotchiness or swelling.

Blood circulation is something we very much take for granted, yet could not live without. Therefore, it is important we do everything we can to help our bodies stay in the best condition.

Location not as good as Queen Street as its in basement and was dark when I left, not the best lighting at building. Feel for staff members leaving building late at night. Something managers at Vivo should look at x
