Plasma Eye Lift
The non-surgical Plasma Eye Lift effectively tightens the eyelids while completely avoiding the risks of surgical blepharoplasty and laser surgeries.
How does it work?
The plasma pen uses a voltaic current that ionises the natural gases found in the air. The gases are turned into plasma from ionisation. The pen’s 0.3mm needle tip directs the plasma to the skin of the treatment area. The needle tip never penetrates the skin; instead, it applies controlled superficial micro-burns when placed in close proximity to the skin’s surface. These tiny plasma burns trigger a thermal-damage healing response, which helps reinstate the skin’s natural elasticity.
The treated areas are left with a carbon crust as the skin instantly vaporises from the plasma’s effect. The carbon crusts will look and feel like tiny scabs; they will naturally fall off, and the treated area becomes tight and firm.

What to expect from non-surgical blepharoplasty?
Before undergoing any treatment, it is very important to manage expectations. For instance, with the plasma eye lift, people would expect no downtime due to its non-surgical nature. Although it is for a very short period, there is some downtime after every treatment.
Conversely, because plasma eye lifts are non-surgical, many people tend to think the results are not as successfully effective as those from the surgical counterpart. This could not be further from the truth.
Results are not only visible immediately after a single procedure, but the effects can potentially last up to 3 years.
What kind of benefits to expect?
The non-surgical blepharoplasty can help tighten and lift both the upper and lower eyelids. It provides a permanent respite from skin sagging over the eyes. Plus, the treatment can also help get rid of smile line wrinkles from the edges of the eyes.
What does the downtime involve?
Following a plasma eye lift session, there is going to be minor scabbing and some swelling. The plasma spark pen creates multiple micro-burns on the treated area. This results in scabbing – they fall off naturally in 3-7 days.
The swelling (sometimes accompanied by slight redness) is also a common response from the treatment.
Most patients have reported experiencing minor discomfort and irritation for a few hours immediately following a plasma eye lift session.
Aftercare for non-surgical blepharoplasty
The aftercare for plasma eye lift is almost as important as the procedure itself.
The following are what one must do as part of the non-surgical blepharoplasty aftercare:
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen for up to 6 weeks
- Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, and other forms of UV radiation for 2 weeks
- Refrain from using any type of facial cosmetics and makeup (including mascara)
- Be extra sure to not rub off the scabbing (letting them fall off naturally is important)
- Use a cold compress to reduce swelling of the treated areas (alternatively, you may apply antihistamine eye creams)
- Keep the treated area clean and dry immediately after the procedure

How long will the results last?
Typically, results from plasma eye lift last between 18 to 24 months. But often, results have been reported to last for up to 3 years.
The reason the effects of non-surgical blepharoplasty last this long is because of the longevity of the body’s healing response. When the plasma pen creates a micro-burn, the body responds by naturally forming new collagen and elastin proteins in order to ‘heal’ the treated area.
Unlike chemical fillers, the newly formed collagen does not have a ‘best before’ date. The collagen and elastin proteins will go on to last for years until they naturally lose strength as the body ages.
