If you are travelling out of the country, VIVO Clinic now offers PCR tests in Middlesbrough.
With the lockdown restrictions on foreign travel now lifted and the ‘traffic light’ travel system now in place, the preventive measures against COVID-19 are more rigorous now than ever before. While many countries will require you to self-isolate on entry, almost all countries demand a negative PCR test result from visitors at the border.
Moreover, you cannot use the NHS COVID-19 tests for your travels as per the government’s rules.
On the other hand, our PCR tests in Middlesbrough are purposed solely for foreign travels. Not only will you receive timely results, we will also supply you with a fit-to-fly certificate if your test result is negative.
At VIVO Clinic Middlesbrough, we offer two distinct services to pick from: same-day results and next-day results. Plus, all our tests are RT-PCR tests – the most in-demand PCR test. While some countries accept the standard PCR tests as part of their entry requirements, every single country recognizes RT-PCR tests results.
What is a PCR test?
A PCR test is the most widely used and globally recognized means of detecting current infections of COVID-19. It is an extremely reliable method with 100% sensitivity. The presence of COVID-19 RNA is checked for in individuals’ samples taken from the nose and the throat.
Why do I need a PCR test to travel?
With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, governments around the world are taking all sorts of precautions to prevent further spread. With vaccines now rolling out, as well as the rise of cases with mutated strains of the virus, being cautious has become more crucial.
Having foreign visitors undergo PCR testing before arrival is a part of this preventive strategy that most countries have adopted. Therefore, taking a PCR test to travel is actually a legal requirement in most places in the world.
When should I book the in-clinic PCR test?
While taking PCR tests before travelling may be mandatory, there are no fixed rules on the timing of it. While some countries are very strict about visitors having taken the test no longer than 72 hours before their flights, other countries may not even have a time window that you must follow.
Therefore, it is highly recommended that you read up on the entry requirements of the country you are visiting before booking your PCR test with us. You can find the latest information regarding foreign travel on the government’s website.
Will you provide me with a fit-to-fly certificate?
We will. If you get a negative result on your PCR test with us, we will supply you with a fit-to-fly certificate attested by our laboratory expert.
Is your laboratory regulated?
Yes, it is. Our laboratory is registered with the Care Quality Commission with the certificate number CRT1-4708702735.
How are VIVO Clinic’s PCR tests in Middlesbrough done?
We follow the same standard procedure as all PCR tests. We will collect your swab samples at our clinic, and the testing will be done at our laboratory. Our clinical staff will aid you through the entire sample collection process.

Can I find out about a previous infection with a PCR test?
No. PCR tests can be used to identify existing COVID-19 infections only. Our at-home immune response test can be used to find out if you had an infection previously.
What if my PCR test result comes back positive for COVID-19?
You cannot travel if your result comes back positive for COVID-19. You must enter a ten-day quarantine immediately.
