The FemiWand technology is a ground-breaking update to the application of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). HIFU has been in active use for various medical and cosmetic procedures since its FDA clearance.

In regard to its cosmetic applications, HIFU allows tightening areas of the loose or ageing skin without requiring any sort of surgery. HIFU treatments are highly efficient, and the results are exceedingly long-lasting.

How does the FemiWand treatment work?

The FemiWand treatment employs HIFU to tighten the vaginal walls. The ultrasound penetrates the inner layers of the vaginal tissue via a HIFU applicator. As a result, the newly formed collagen fibres and elastin proteins help tighten and strengthen the skin in and around the vagina.

How many sessions will I need?

Our consultants will recommend how many treatment sessions you may need depending on how severe the condition you are trying to treat. However, for the majority of the cases, 1-2 sessions are recommended.

Each treatment session takes up to 20 minutes and, in the cases that require multiple treatments, they are scheduled four to six weeks apart.

Are the results permanent?

The results are not permanent as the newly formed collagen also ages at the body’s natural rate. However, the results from a single treatment can last up to 2 years.

It is recommended that the treatment be utilized every couple of years to retain post-treatment vaginal health.

How long is the downtime after a session?

There is no downtime whatsoever. You can immediately return to your daily routine. However, the consultants will advise you to refrain from working out for 24 hours following the treatment and also put off sexual activities for 72 hours.

Are there any contraindications for FemiWand?

Like any cosmetic or medical treatment, the FemiWand treatment has a few contraindications. These include:

• Pregnancy (the treatment can only be safely carried out three months after childbirth)
• Undiagnosed cervical or vaginal lesions
• Urinary or vaginal tract infection
• Active genitourinary cancer
• Stage 2 pelvic organ prolapse, or greater.
